“I think the national idea in America of volleyball – I’m generalizing – is backyard picnic volleyball. And you know, rightly so, there’s not a lot of exposure. But, when they see it for the first time, when they’re sitting in the front row and they’re seeing collegiate volleyball, men’s volleyball or even the national team, I think there’s this step back saying, woah, I didn’t realize it was this dynamic and powerful and dangerous.”

Kawika Shoji

“The opportunity in college allowed me to continue my volleyball career, elevated it to the next level, got me ready for the Olympic level actually. And it’s great to see that there are new and upcoming college programs making themselves known, recruiting more athletes, getting more boys into the college game. It’s fantastic.”
